Check the charge on your battery.. Likely what happened was the belt broke and you kept driving and discharged the battery. I'm assuming the water pump is driven by the serpentine belt here.. but I would suspect your automatic belt tensioner. It may be keeping your belt too tight, putting extra load on your water pump bearings causing them to fail and sieze and then break your belt. Charge the battery and replace your tensioner.

did you check the timing belt? It's recomended to change the timing belt when you replace the water pump. Could have jumped timing or broke the timing belt.More Questions & Answers ...
