In "realistic" driving I would think max about 25 MPG. They were very cheap vehicles that did not have much "tech" stuff on them. Also geared low which relates to the lower mileage. However a huge amount of fun. I have known folks to get higher than that, but they were real conservative drivers. Transfer cases go out easily but fun vehicles and easy to work on mostly. Light as heck so great off road as hard to get stuck. Like the old Volkswagen Bugs they often "ride over" sand and mud rather than sinking in like the big heavy vehicles. Be sure to test the 4 wheel drive and transfer case before buying though as they are a very big problem part and getting harder to find used at a decent price. if you can find one still alive today, it will be a pile of junk.they were hot little things when they came out but fell apart as of bout 40,000 miles. had major gear box and differential issues. buddy had one, was awesome in the snow, but growled and just chewed itself alive on drive pavement. thing belonged living in the snow and mud and to never see pavement, then it would of lasted.
