Its a piece of crap with a high maintenance schedule. Chevrolet, Nissan, Toyota, and Honda are your better choices. All with less maintenance problems and mechanical failures. I have a 2004 GMC Canyon with a 2.8 four cylinder automatic. Best p/u I ever had.i've heard hyundais are really crappy cars
We purchased a Hyundai Sonata in 2005 and we have had no mechanical or electrical problems at all. It has been a very dependable car. We are very adamant about servicing in a timely manner. We would have to give Hyundai a thumbs up.

You have to be more precious on your question. What year coupe is it? 2003 and 2004 Hyundai couples had many electrical gremlins and a clutch issure. 2005 and up Coupes are reliable

You don't get what you pay for when you're looking at a Hyundai. The only reason why Korean cars are lower price is because the Korean currency is lower than Japanese and American currencies. 50-50 miss in a Hyundai? Have you seen the recent satisfaction awards that went to Hyundai? 50-50 can be said to all automakers.

It's hit or miss with Hyundai. As a first car to own i would suggest a Nissan sentra, Mazda protege or Mazda3. You want a relatively trouble free car as your first car. There are people who love their Hyundais and there are those who hate theirs - pretty much 50 - 50 split. As a dealership mechanic who has worked on hyundais, nissans, mazdas and others, don't be seduced by the price of this car. In America you get what you pay for. Just read up on reviews for cars in the same class.Don't listen to the haters, Hyundais are good cars!

its not hit or miss with a new Hyundai. it has America's best warranty which covers your engine, transmission, and drive system for 10 yrs, or 100,000 miles. It also has a five year 60,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty, and Hyundai is one of the few products that cover their wearable items with in the first year i.e. brakes, belts, hoses,etc. Not to mention if your a first time buyer than you'll have the security of knowing that it comes with a 5 year unlimited mile road side assistance program which covers flat tire change, battery starts, locksmithing, gas fill-ups, and towing for free. it also includes trip interruption so if your vehicle brakes down 150 miles away from home Hyundai provides you with a hundred dollars a day for food, lodging, and rental. My only advice to you is that you buy the 2.0, 4 cyc. engine for insurance reasons.Where do you buy a Red Ford Mustang?
A 2-3 year old Tiburon is a great first car if you want a coupe that won't explode your insurance bill or kill you at the gas station. You'll save alot of money buying just a couple years old model and still have a few years of full warranty left.Hyundai cars have surpassed American and European brands in quality recently, so you should feel comfortable knowing you are getting a well built vehicle.
