You are not covered under your own insurance as you only have third party fire and theft - it just covers you for damage you cause to another party. You could claim off their insurance assuming that you have their details. If not, you will have to pay for the damage yourself.Shouldn't matter. Claim through the other party's insurance instead. If they are fully comp they foot the bill, usually provide a car while your car is repaired and that won't affect your policy.

If you were hit by another vehicle and it was the other drivers fault as you claim, then their liability insurance pays you for your loss. Everyone who drives, has to have auto insurance, and carries the minimum coverage, that being liability. If the other driver has Liability insurance then they must pay. If you did not get a police report then it is going to be hard to get them to pay. But if you did the police report and they have liability then all you have to do is get an estimate for your car, and call thier insurance company and tell them what it is. Or call the person who hit you and tell them to do it.
Good luck I hope everything works out!
Who thinks the commercial about the Dodge Nitro...?
First thing, it sounds very like a hit & run - report it to the police. They might find some witnesses who can identify the other vehicle, then tell your insurers. Otherwise it's down to you, I'm afraid - that's the drawback of TPF&T.More Questions & Answers ...
