they can hold there own but you have to keep in mind that a s10 is only a half ton not a 3/4 ton...they are some strong truck if you have the s10 with the 4.3 liter motor but if you have the one with the 2.6 then that is a different story.with my past of owning s10's like i said they can pull there share of loads \ like your average boats or your work trailers/// but keep in mind you have to stay on top of the tran if you are going to do some pulling... like changing filters and fluids every so often when it starts to slip...but on the inside door jam or in the glove box should be a plate with the max load of what it can haul...Result of class action against Nissan for 2003 Maxima headlights?
