Question:
Both of these cars are based off each other. The camaro was always the cousin car to the firebird. I recently just purchased a 2000 firebird and was wondering if they were ever bringing back that car too.
Answers:
Would you get an 07 Acura MDX or 07 Lexus RX350? Why or why not? Thanks?
The new Camaro will share its platform with other GM vehicles, but no Firebird for now. BTW, the GTO run ended already in 2006.What does Engine Speed Input Circuit Malfunctionmean?
Pontiac will get a G8, which will be on the same platform, as is the new Holden Commodore on which it's based. Chevy may also get a new Chevelle.
What is the fastest car for under $150k?
Hopefully, some day Pontiac will wake up and make that Firebird again... ::sigh::
How can i change the door pins in my dodge ram w/out changing the brackets?
I love the 1982-1991 Pontiac Firebird! Well, I really like all Firebirds but those are my favorite. Anyway, to answer your question, I have not heard anything about Firebirds coming back unfortunately. I only hope so. Maybe if the Camaro sells well then Pontiac may bring back the Firebird.Aww, I don't want them to bring either back, they are such amazing cars that deserve to rest in their amazingness.
I have an 1986 Honda accord that needed the idle set up and ended up with A new carb.?
I've only heard of the Camaro coming back, but I have seen some renderings of the new Trans Am by some hopefuls.Check this out:

While the Camaro is 100% coming back in just a short while now (woohoo!) the firebird/trans am future does not look all that great. I have seen renderings of a Trans Am concept, but nothing official. Bob Lutz (GM exec) has been quoted saying things about the Camaro coming back and upon the Pontiac brother "the firebird will not fly again" disappointing news, I am a Trans Am guy myself, but then again in 2002 people said the Camaro was dead forever too. And while I hope the Camaro does very well, helps GM with some of their major financial issues, and brings back the Firebird. I doubt it right now, looking at the business end of it today Pontiac has the GTO in the 30K area, 6spd and 400hp LS2, along with independent rear suspension. Chevrolet does not have a car like this, being as how the 'Vette is 45K+. The Camaro has a demand and will fill that void in the Chevrolet lineup. Pontiac however does not have that void with the GTO now in place. In order for the Trans Am to return, I really believe that means Pontiac would have to boot the GTO. The only real way is to wait and see. I would enjoy your 2000 for now! haha
