the trim around the radio seems like it will break if pryed on does it just pull out?

You're right, but take a bent strong like hanger, slip behing the panel and give a quick jerk, the clips hold it tight. Panel snaps off then there are screws that hold the radio. There are 6 clips that hold the panel. Like you said you have to pull like you want to break it.

kayef is right to a point.. rip it like you are going to break it but not that hard as the first thing you have to undo after it starts seperating is a wire for a light for the air bag system. it's just an indicator. but breaking the wire will set the air bag light off...
