I own a 1891 Caprice and I had a bad misfire under load only I posted 5 questions to try to figure out the problem asking the Chevrolet experts here on this sight what could be wrong with the car.I received many answers ranging from a bad TPS sensor, o2 sensor , MAP sensor, distributer ignition module, cap , rotor, coil, main ECM computer, fuel pump, ignition switch, all wiring harnesses from the collem to the ignition system also the wiring harness for the fuel pump, Mass air flow sensor, and just about all the components that the car has excluding the engine and transmission itself. I replaced it all as I knew the experts that answered my question had years of experience! The cost of all these components exceeded $2300.00 and yet the problem didnt go away in fact, it became much worse! Anyway, yesterday a 16 year old guy from my neighborhood came over to my house and fixed the car with his first try! how did he do this? He replaced the spark plug wires! The cost was $17.55. Thanks

1891 caprice?? Ha. Yeah I know you meant a 1991. The first thing I would have checked and replaced was the spark plugs and wires.. thats common sense with a mis in the engine. But everytime you work on a car you learn something new. at least your car is fixed and you have tons of new parts now. :)Where can i sell kia sorento running boards beside craigslist and ebay??
Although I am the top contender in Chevrolet answers, I failed to find where I answered "any" of your 38 questions. Out of those 38 questions you have asked, not all of them are of the mechanical nature. We all can click on your avitar, and see every question you have asked since you became a member. You must realize, not all the people on here are experts, and it is up to you to determine the best answer. Reading back through your questions, I had trouble determining what it was you wanted to know, therefore I didn't answer any of them. Your questions went from one thing to another, and I never found one place where you asked what would cause your car to have a miss in the firing. In my opinion you got very good answers from more than qualified mechanics, but given the context of the questions I had trouble figuring out just what it was you wanted to know. If you had any doubts about the answers you got, then you should have let the voters decide the best answer. Placing the blame on the people who did answer your questions, is not the way to go here. They (like me) will go back and read all of your questions, and they will see all the answers you voted as best answer, and they will know (like me), that their answers did not contribute to you spending $2,300.00 on parts you did not need. You stated in one of your 38 questions, that you won the lottery, and that (in this question) you own a 1891 Caprice. 1891 is a pretty old car! I'm sure you meant a 1991. I just thought it was funny. If you won the lottery, buy you a top of the line car. Since we are considered by you to be Chevrolet experts, then where was the question out of your 38 that asked the correct question? Your questions rambled, made no sense, and as an example; were like "where is the fuel pump located"? I cannot (out of all of your 38 questions) find one single question that asked the question you needed to ask in order to get the answer you needed. I (for one) am not convinced that installing new parts (on any vehicle) will make the problem become worse as you imply. What you are trying to do here is; make the one's that answered your questions admit they are all not qualified to answer the high tech questions you asked. All the answers you got are somehow not as good as what a 16 year old could do in 15 minutes. So, get your money back on the parts. Most parts stores will take back parts that you don't use, especially if you bought $2,300.00 worth and they made it worse. Were they all used parts?Glad to help out, Good Luck!
