Question:
I just got a 99 Maxima for a daily driver. I would like to give it a little horsepower without doing anything major. I have never really looked into what can be done with these.
I know the newer maximas have the same basic engine and the 4th gen. The 4th gen has 195hp while the newer 5th &6th gen models have up to 165hp.
Any opinions on Greenleaf Health Care in Fort Dodge, IA?
Are there any swaps I can take off of the newer models to improve performance on the 4th gen. Both the new and old engines have the same number.
Answers:
Does Anyone know anything about the VW Thing?
Actually, the 99 max has a TON of aftermarket support, and your 3-liter is a great base to build off of.Several of the Moderators at www.MaximaClub.org drive modded 4th-gen Maximas, and they'll tell you - headers, intake, and a catback will help enormously,. After that, forced induction makes sense, or a VQ35 motor swap.
I don't know about maximas specifically, but the basics are always exhaust and intake. Be sure they're smog legal in your area.
Can somebody tell me where to find a list of all makes and models of vehicles?
put in a superchangerFirst thing 3.5 liter vs. 3.0 liter different engines, next engine controls are different. Turning up the power will be costly larger injectors JWT "Jim Wolf Technology" engine controls free flowing intake and exhaust. And it still will be a Maxima Sedan. Or just go out trade in the 99 and purchase a 2008 Altima Coupe six speed or Maxima 2004 and up 6 speed.
