Yup some other names that the die hards know.
You missed the Callaway corvette, the c4 corvette (but this was a production model so in a way it does not count. I argue on this though. But technically, it was not sold so depends on who you talk to. lol Then I know there was the commerative edition and the grand sport. Bunch of us last year were arguing about this during the car show convention. I am in the union and we set up the car show, the booths, carpets, and tables and get to see all the test cars. FYI, some so called test cars are the out hull only, One car had wire hangers holding the muffler on. That was so from the outside you could see the muffler. And of course no engine or batter. just a hull. The insides look good, but that was about it. Anyway, we argued on the names. But then matter of opinion. Cuz I said if you say a sting ray car it is a corvette. If you say a callaway car, it is a corvette cuz no other car with that name.

Big C . . huh? What is a key hole doing on the side of a Stingray Corvette?
Callaway was an aftermarket Corvette invoiced by Chevrolet. Its name signified the modifications made by Reeves Callaway. It was NOT a model, so to speak, the way a Stingray was. I mean, if the Callaway was made when the Vette was a Stingray, don't you think it would have been called the Callaway Stingray?

Up to today, there's only been Vettes, and Vette Stingrays. I can't comment on whether it's one word or two, or maybe both depending on the generation of the car.
The sting ray is still a Corvette. So no the Corvette has always be marketed as a Corvette.

GM has marketed the Z06 as a separate high-end model since its re-entry as a C5 in 2001.Trade 78 ford for 86 and 84 jeep cj7?
I don't remember a marketing strategy for it in 1963. It was a very limited race version that could have been ordered by selecting the correct options.
The other model that was a separate high-end version was the ZR1 or "King of the Hill" from 1990-1995.

From 1987-1991 GM offered a Factory Optioned Twin Turbo Corvette, known as the Callaway Twin Turbo, or RPO-B2K. This is the option code. These cars were regular corvettes ordered with all the good stuff by Callaway, then were sent off the the Callaway Plant in Old Lyme Connecticut http://www.callawaycars.com , to become the famous Twin Turbo Corvette. They were then returned to GM to be sold as a factory car with the B2K order option. The price on these was upwards and over 100K in the later years, making it the most expensive factory production US car in history.
