Engine of choice for 1979-83 Toyota 4x4 Pickup?

Question:
What would be a good engine of choice for a 1979-83 Toyota 4x4 Pickup? If I were to get those trucks I would like to perform a V8 conversion (preferrably a small block motor), my engine of choice would be a 302 V8 from a mid 80's Mustang, I'm curious to any other suggestions on any V8 motors.

They Chev 350 is the most common choice and easy to get. You can also use most smallblock Fords, the Buick V6 or the Chev 4.3 L V6.

Plus sizing and alloy wheels?

If you are starting out, I would highly recommend looking at the products from Advance Adapters. They sell a large variety of install items from engine mounts to tranny adapters. It makes the process much, much easier.

Help with car heater trouble. 2001 Chrysler Seibring, heater works when driving but not at idle. Any ideas?

I would put in a 350 V8 w/a Turbo 350 Transmission and Edelbrock suspension to go with it, a 283 V8 w/350 Turbo Tranny would be a great choice.

Iceplayr's right. Stick with the 22R or 22RE for weight, mileage, reliabiltiy, cost etc. There's also a turbo charged engine in the 22R family that was a real screamer, and was also troublefree.
