Question:
My brake lights work when you tap the brake, but the parking lamps in the back are not working. It says check taillamps on my idiot gauge.
So far we have only checked the fuses in the interior of the car, and the fuses in the engine bay. Are we missing any other places to look for a another fuse box? And it thats not it, then what should be the next thing we tear into? the bulbs? (i think they might be good beacuse like i said earlier the brake lights work when you press the brakes)
Any help would be great, not just dumb answers to get points ppl.

check the fuse, change the bulbs, then check the wiringIs the 2006 Dodge Charger a good car? Reliable?
Some vehicles like my '95 Regal have 3 fuse boxes. You should check your owners manual as it will tell u how many u have and where each is located at. Unfortunately if it's not the fuse, then u may have a short somewhere in your electrical system.Try changing the bulbs. They're a couple bucks and if it doesn't fix it, you'll have spares when you need them.

Tail light "Bulbs" can use TWO filaments, one for "stop" and the other for "illuminated tail", replace the bulb and see this may fix the trouble, if your brake lights work, you still risk having the other "filament" in the same bulb burned out.1972 CHEVY truck power steering bracket?

The next step would be to replace one of the bulbs and see if that cures your problem. The bulbs are dual filament, one normal brightness for your taillight and one extra bright for your stop light. They will and do burn out at different rates so one will work while the other is bad. Good luckI own a shop, and have seen this on several occasions. What I found was; there was a tow bar mounted on the back, and the wires for the lights were tapped into at the harness just before the tail lights. It may have pulled loose, lost its ground or not hooked up right. A lot of people use these vehicles to pull boats, and there is a harness that is tapped into back there that most people just tape up without using the correct connectors and sealing them up to keep dirt, water, and corrosion out. 99% of the time this is where you will find the problem. If you have checked all the fuses, then there isn't any hidden fuses. The owners manual will tell you where to look for all the fuses you need to examine.
Glad to help out, good Luck!

most common thing is a broken wire at the boo swich (brake on/off) which is located on the brake pedel. the wire like to brake right around the were it is taped up into the harness. of corse check the blubs first then check for power at the swich connectorMore Questions & Answers ...
