Any car can be a good car, it all comes down to condition! First of all the mileage should be low, relatively speaking don't buy a car with more then 120,000 and not expect to repair it soon. Second, see if it has been abused by checking body panels, etc. Third of all, TEST DRIVE IT....drive it slow, drive it fast, hit the breaks, barley tap the breaks, just to make sure the tranny and engine aren't gonna give out when you get it home. Otherwise yes the Chevy Cavalier is a good small car with great gas mileage and is very dependable.

Chevy Cavalier are good cars. The price is real good usually and they last for at least 200,000 miles. But if your going to buy it make sure it has not been in a flood like from Texas recently or any other flood. You should not notice any rust on the inside of the car like under the seat or anything. There should be no water line on the engine, andif they just got it detailed make sure you look it over for these signs. The car should start smoothly and not hear a ping sound. The Cavalier is a good car if you don't race and abuse it. Good luck on buying the car.
