intermittently at idle, pich rises with rpm untill about 1300 then goes away. only while in neutral. (standard trans) sound eminating from passenger side of motor, cant seem to find a vac hose over there, please help!

wow i had this same problem it was a vacume line to vacume reservour box located on bottom side behind passenger tire. on mine it also turned the heat off when i accelerated .and on some 90's models it will keep the front diff from lockingWhy are battery cables on older BMWs colored Red for Negative and Black for Positive?

Is your 4WD working? I had same whistle sound during fall. I would hear it between shifing gears. Was hard to place the moise, but it sounded to the right. This winter I noticed I had no 4WD. Researching the 4WD, I found out the actuator for 4WD is on front axle passenger side and is run by vacuum, so I supect the whistling was a leak.Will headers help increase the sound of my exhaust?plez help?
