Question:
I really want a Honda Prelude. They look really good and have the mpg that won't kill me. If anyone has ever had this car, what did you like most about it and what did you the least? Is the V-tec motor anything special? What car would you suggest besides a Prelude that has equal power and value? Thanks.

What is the Make, model, and year of car (with options) of a 2007 Mercury Milan?
I've had two ludes, a '91 and an '01. They both got horrible mileage, but both were modified. I still have the '01, and I love it. The VTEC has more power than the non- VTEC. If you go after a '97+ stay away from the SH model, it has a traction control device in the tranny that likes to break, and is very expensive to replace. The thing I like the least is the fact that, modified or not, you have to run 93 octane gas or it won't run. I made the mistake of using 89 and had to get my tank pumped out. As far as equality in power AND value, um... possibly an Acura CL 2.2 '97-'01 ( same car, a few more bells and whistles ) maybe a Toyota MR-2, I dunno, I'm very Honda-biased, so I don't really have any good suggestions as far as other brands go.Where is the convertible motor located on a 99 mustang?
We had an 88. Fun car. 2 Liter and about 130 HP with some mods. non-VTEC.V belt replacement scematic for 1984 chevy caprice?
VTECs tend to have a little more torque and HP than a stock non-VTEC. It is just how the camshafts work. In a VTEC the cam timing changes with RPM in such a way as to burn fuel slightly more efficiently. Non-VTECs, the cam timing remains constant.
the lude the newer models are the best dont get the old school ones. some of my friends have some ludes and they love em. the good thing about em is theyre reliable and pretty quick for being stock. the engine h22 that comes with em, it has a lot of potential so its up to u what u wann do with it, one of my friends has a h22turbo pushin 323 hp on the flywheels, it kills almost all cars on the street. the vtec motor is like a mini turbo that kicks in when u need some more power . u can always get a civic si instead if u want theyre cool too.
Honda Prelude's are great you can do a lot like dc headers full catback remap the fuel system and not lose mpg... 92 and up are good i had a 93 with a swap to a H22A (civic type-r motor) more power and the cost of the cars would not be much oh yeah cold air intake..

i dunno what this kid is talking about with his civic type r motor and what not (civic type r motors have been the B16B and the K20A). The prelude is an OK car. They are pretty cheap and affordable also reliable. VTEC is nothing special. A lot of people think its amazing, the H22A though, in my opinion, is not that great of a motor for squeezing power out of. another car besides the prelude that i would look at would be the civic. if i were to buy a honda coupe, i would say the civic. great reliability, good gas mileage, pretty safe and you can find some nice ones at a decent price. i also would not buy a car that they took out of production 6 years ago (like the prelude). How do you change the jets on a 2000 jeep.v-8.easy or hard to do?
Hondas look good and are built to be driven how ever the hell you want to and they don't break. I don't know of many other cars like that. Yes V-tec is great - for all the reasons previously explained in other answers. If you're going to own one you need to know that if you get repairs of any kind done, you must use genuine everything - right down to power steering fluid. Parts etc are more expensive, but it's the only way to go if you don't want to be forking out down the track for not having had genuine parts etc.
Make sure you can afford the car - and you can afford to keep it in tip top condition when it needs it. They only become trouble and unreliable when they haven't had enough lovin'.
Good luck finding one you like!
Taking off jeep wrangler soft top instructions?
I would suggest that you were to ge a Nissan 90-93 Nissan 240SX i think that they look all most alike and it would be stronger since it is rear wheel drive. I also wanted to get a Prelude but all the newer ones were too expensive and i ended up getting a 240sx. They hall *** and they look good fixed up!!More Questions & Answers ...
