87 f150 with injected 302 stalls upon slowing or stopping but only sometimes?

Question:
This has been an ongoing problem. It is sporatic with no pattern or reccognizable common factor and has been present before and after replacing the following: main computer (twice), ignition module (4 times), distributor cap/rotor (twice), the distributor itself, plugs/wires (twice), engine block (it had 205k miles), all sensors (each one) including the idle position sensor (twice), egr valve (twice), egr valve relay, fuel pressure regulator (twice), has good fuel pressure at the rail (yes, drove around with a guage attached), vacuum is good, no computer codes show up (ever), happens while using rear or midship fuel tank and when either is full, half or near empty. Every time I take it to "someone who knows" they immediately want to hook it up to a computer... this does not work-nothing ever shows. I need someone who truely understands a 1987 injected 302 inside and out. I am not selling the truck. Most of the time it runs like a brand new truck... new motor has less than 35k miles.

Golf or Focus?

I have had in the past a weak VSS signal cause this. The PCM monitors it on decel and adjusts the idle air control a little higher until you come to a stop then it goes to a base idle. If it thinks you are stopped and you are not it keeps trying to lower the idle while you are coasting then it cannot react fast enough to save idle. You could monitor the hz output of the speed sensor on A/C scale when the concern happens or just put one in, they're cheap

On the throttle body, there is an idle air control valve. This is operated by the engine computer to maintain the correct idle speed.

Sometimes these valves get dirty and stick. Remove the valve and clean the valve and port with carburetor cleaner.

If this doesn't work, check the wiring to the valve or replace the valve.

how do i get a diagram of the steering column on a 1986 chevy stepside 2wd, 6 cylander truck?

I own the same exact vehicle and recently had the same problem. My solution to it turned out to be the vacuum assist for the brakes was somehow defective and when i went to slow down sometimes it would try to stall, even with the tranny in neutral. I studied this for some time and even took it to a few "techs", no one knew why or could find anything wrong with it. I stripped it all down to the fire wall and replaced everything, and I haven't had a problem since.
