Question:
my 2000 s40 turn signal has been working sporadically. some days it works every time, other days, not so much, with no apparent rhyme or reason. yesterday it didn't work at all. my guess is it's not a fuse (sometimes the signals work) or a bulb (when these go out i think the signal on the dash goes double-time). does it sound like a short? what should i anticipate in terms of repair?

My Toyota Matrix door latch just got stuck.?
IT SOUNDS AS IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ON YOUR STEERING COLUMN...POSSIBLY JUST A LOOSE CONNECTION BUT MORE THAN LIKELY THE SWITCH IS WORN OUT AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED...I WOULD TAKE IT TO A SHOP YOU CAN TRUST FOR REPAIRS DUE TO THE AIR BAG ISSUE.Why cant i turn my wheel, after installing 20" rims on my 1974 Chevy Nova?
check flasher, it's probably near fuse box, under dashboard.98 pontiac bonnevile stalls and dies out when warm?
When it flashes "double-time", it's telling you there's a bulb burnt out. If it's sporadic, there may be something wrong with the wiring.where can i buy mercedes m class wing mirrors?
A burnt bulb can be replaced in 10 minutes. I would replace all of them for that side. It could be that the filament is broken but bouncing around, making contact once in a while.
I don't think it's wiring in a 2000.
Volvos seem to have continuing problems with bulb sockets. The sockets corrode and cause the kind of difficulty you desribe. Try cleaning the bulb base contacts and sockets. Electronic contact clenaer and a stiff nylon brush will do nicely.
suspect the flasher these don't often go bad but when they do the symptom is the one you describe o.e. flasher relay was approx 15 U.S. east coast dollars and 3/10 of an hour to install.
