I mean the older, 60s/70s classics; a friend has just bought an old 1800 for £5000 and I've never heard about the marque before, but it looks beautiful- what sort of reception do they get these days? Are they bona fide classics? Reliable?

Jem Marsh and Frank Costin in the 50's Hence "Mar Cos" blah blah. Ended up making semi - fully built kit cars mainly in the 60's. 1800 was one of the first of the classic Marcos shape - probably a Volvo engine.
Built 1st British car to finish Lemans in '66 and '67. (Mini Marcos) - (Complete dogpile - i've had 3, then I grew up.)
Total BRITISH classic. Reliability? It's 40 years old - it totally depends on maintenance.

The classic Marcos shape is still going now - albeit under Marcos Heritage. Marcos went bump I think about 10 years ago.
As long as he looks after it, he'll never lose money. Has it got any wood in the chassis? I'm being serious - some of the early ones had.
