1999 Dodge intrepid?

I'm in the car business and I see Lincoln Town Cars ( Which use a 4.6 V8 ) but it's identical to the triton used in the F-150's and I see them with over 400K running well and in one occasion, I caught an 97 Expedition in Florida with the 5.4 Triton V8 with 654,000 miles and I the truck sounded and looked liked lied the day it was made.

What other motor can i fit into my 1994 honda accord ex? I want to go faster.?

An engines life depends mostly on the owner who services it. You keep to par in maintaining you vehicle and not abuse it, they last forever.

Wat is better old car or new car??

People who don't care, abuse, and don't service their engine would already be in trouble thousands of miles below you.

How can i turn off the automatic door locks on my 02 dodge ram ?

98,000 miles is nothing for a Ford V8, that is just the begining. If you are as good as owner as you sound, you will easily see another 100,000 miles or far more. All Ford V8's are built to last.

I need to get a a key made for 93 Ford explorer I have the emergency key but don't work. What can I do?

It depends if they are highway miles or city miles. It also depends on how you take care of your engine. If you kept up on scheduled maintenence, only put in name brand gas with a decent grade, and didn't romp the car or push the engine too hard, you should be ok. Remember that the bigger the engine, the shorter the life.

Does any1 know how 2 set the clock on a peugeot 106 independence? i dont have a users manual?

I just worked on one that had 247,000 miles on it, if that helps. And it wasnt in for engine work..was in for door lock inoperative. As long as serviced properly these engines seem to hold up well.

Why is there never hyundai tiburon commercials on TV?

I currently own a 99 ranger with a 3 liter V-6 136,000 miles and runs like the day I bought it just maintain em and fords run forever. My last ranger was a 90 with 2.3 liter four with almost 400,000 miles finally had to get rid of it cuz I wrecked it.I also had an F-150 that belonged to my grandfather that had over 500,000 miles on it.That one, after sitting in the woods for three years,I drug it out with a chain put a little oil in the cylinders a little fresh gas in the carb and tank and she fired right up.Drove it around with a rod knock for 6 months then sold it for 1,000 bucks
BTW Highly recomend castrol GTX and Valoline injector cleaner

The engine doesn't have a built in Lifetime Limit. Most engines fail due to the owner not maintaing their cars engine and Transmission as they are supposed to. Can't remove cap on my engine coolant, 98 VW Jetta GLS?

I agree with most people.. I've seen F-150s with 150k and 200k normally and one or tow with 300k on the engines... It's all a matter of maintaince and a small portion of luck... Ford has had some issues with motors like everyone else.. but for the most part, the engines are a work horse as long as they are maintained and not excessively idled (even then, most police units get 150k miles before needing a new engine.. But with idling equals about 300k or extrememly hard running)

I am going to build a '32 ford roadster, anyone have opinions regarding a fiberglass body?

The consumer affairs website link shows for plugs blowing out of the heads. Haven't seen too many myself. Usually after talking with the customer they admit they have had a tune up or a spark plug replaced somewheres before. I've heard it doing it with factory plugs however... apparently it's 1999 to early model 2003 (expeditions for 2003 MY were built in early 2002)

Would an air induction kit & ECU performance chip make a big difference to the performance of my BMW 325i?

I can't say how long that engine would last, but I had a 1989 Ford Thunderbird, and the engine was still running well at 137,273 miles. I would have kept it, but my father made me get rid of it. I now have a 1993 with 102,000 miles, so Ford engines I would say generally run a good amount of time.

How do I change a headlight bulb on a 1991 Ford Ranger.High beams work but drivers side low beam light is out.

Diffrence between Petrol engine & Diesel Engine?

This is a million dollar question. If I could predict how long an engine would last I could retire. It really depends on many things. We do routine service on fleet vehicles. I can tell you there are some Fords out there with over 2 million miles on them and still running. I can also show you a police car that only has 20,000 miles on it with a fried motor. Some people don't maintain like they should. If you change your oil ever 5000 miles, use the right grade of oil, use standard oil where its called for and synthitic where its called for and use quality filters you engine could go over 200,000 miles. We usually rebuild (heads, valve train) at 150,000 but thats us. Our clients pay us to maintain vehicles. We change brake pads every 15,000 miles as well, front and back. Our clients don't have money issues they can't afford to break down. A pd car is not good chasing crooks if it can't stop to arrest them. I personally know of a 1988 Ford tempo in fleet service with a city that goes between 50 60,000 miles a year so that car has about 1.3 million miles on it by now I think. The city would rather spend 1000 on fixing that car then 20,000 on a new one. The car still looks like new and has no signs of rust. The motoe and transmission have never had a major rebuid. However, the driver, takes better care of that car then he does his kids. So Im sorry there is no real answer to your question. There are just way too many variables.
