Question:
I own a 94 Dodge Intrepid and it dies sometimes when its idleing or when I go to put it in gear and then sometimes I can drive it all day with no problems, I'm just wondering if anyone has had this same problem because I don't want to buy expensive parts if I don't have to! I can also rev the car up and it sounds good and doesn't sound like its having any kind of a gas problem and it don't really cut out at?

Aeroplane cabin noise in Seat Ibiza?
Timing may be off, or the fuel filter is plugged or the fuel pump is dying.Do you have trouble getting it to start as well? If you turn the key sometimes and get nothing, then turn it again and it starts then you have these troubles, it would be your ignition switch going bad.

There's a great show on National Public Radio called "Car Talk," where listeners call in with questions like this. The number is 1-888-CAR-TALK (888-227-8255). The NPR station in your area probably carries it, usually on Saturday morning. The two guys who answer the questions are phenomenal, very funny but also very knowledgeable -- they usually have an answer to the caller's question. Best of all, of course, their advice is free!

i own a shop and all it may need in it is a new set of spark plugs they will cause one to die like this when you put it in gear, like that and also a gas filter will cause this,id at least look at the plugs in it and see if they looked ok or needed re-gaped or replaced, usually that's what causes them to die like that a lot, good luck with it i hope this helps. Why are VW's rated so low in reliability by consumer reports?
