if you need to replace the antenna base, then you should probably take it to a tech.if the base is in one piece and you can unscrew whatever is left, then you can do it yourself, it just screws off.

also, if you are getting a stubby antenna, dab a little blue locktite on the threads of the antenna before screwing it on, it deters the people who might try and steal your shiny new antenna.
