It has a spark plug for each valve, if it's a gasoline engine. I would imagine that any motor strong enough to move a bus would have at least 6 valves.

that is not really a fair question. In todays world many are ran by diesel motors which have 0 sparkplugs...using compression and heat to ignite the fuel.

Many school busses use propane injection which depending on the motor uses 8 or 10 sparkplugs...i doubt there would be a 4 or 6 cylinder bus. (that is not diesel)
