A friend recommended I clean the intake of my subaru legacy with carb cleaner. Now it will not start.Any ideas

Its a 1996 Legacy. Never ever would it not start. Now it tries to start and every once in a while starts for 3 seconds, then dies? Please help

You have probably washed all the crud into the combustion chamber and fouled the plugs, pull the plugs and clean them and that will most likely fix your problem. Usually when one cleans the throttle body like that they keep the engine running at a high rpm,1000-1200rpm.
