how long will the transmission last on my 1998 dodge caravan?
That happens--when you shut off the engine the recirculation of water stops. the block and cylinder heads are still hot--so the heat causes the coolant to boil. Normally, you should not have this happen is your coolant and radiator cap are in good condition (raises the boiling point of the coolant) unless you just ran hard and shut it off. Otherwise you maybe looking at other problems that are just starting like a fan clutch, electric fan, or plugged external or internal core of the radiator. 1st check you cap, coolant, and wash out the external core of the radiator at a high pressure car wash (the quarter type)check the coolant overflow/resovoir.
where are the fuses located on a 1997 monte carlo?
Usually that is water from the radiator going back into the holding tank. Sounds also like you need to check your antifreeze level in the plastic tank beside the radiator on sometimes its on the inside fender well. sounds to me like you could be heating up some.It could be the coolant being recovered back into the reservoir bottle.....you could be hearing the a/c you could.........Does it do it every time, or when you go on long trips. When in doubt, take it to your local mechanic.
