How do i fix a 2002 jetta gls 1.8t with transmission problems?

Question:
The engine revs really high while shifting from 1st,2nd and 3rd gear. After 3rd gear it hits 4th with a jerk while im barely 30mph. Specifically an 09A tiptronic transmission. It started happening recently and is repeatable. It happens only on a startup when the engine is cold. After about 5 minutes of driving the problem goes away and start working normally. I dont want to replace the tranny. Is this a tcm problem that can be fixed. It seems that it lost the shift points for the first three gears. I dont understand why it only happens on startup.

Anyone know where there are some good online instructions for changing the sepertine belt on a 1995 explorer?

Call a local INDEPENDANT VW shop and ask them about this. The Stealership will not give you an answer and tell you to bring it in, charge you $100+ for a diagnostic check (which of course they will waive if you have them do the work) and charge you $2500+ to fix this!
