You can get automatics, but that is automatic stick shift..where you drive it up to speed and let go of the gas and shift, then drive up to speed and let go of the gas and shift. (No clutch) I have never driven one but that was(as far as I know)as close to automatic that VW made.
They like to shift. When you buy a sports car, you buy it with a stick shift for the thrill of it. Automatics are for old people.
