Question:
i am thinking about putting a lift on my jeep. i dont want to go too big so im thinging maybe about 2 inches or so. iv heard thats a good lift without changing the on road driving too much. so what is the best type of lift. id like a mix of good quality, easy install, all of the parts included, and a good price. i dont go extreme off road but i could use a lift to get a little more crazy if u kno wat i mean. so any tips would be accepted and just let me kno all you can about what is and wats not good. and anything else you kno about lift kits in general like about pros and cons of them and how easy they are to install and stuff like that.
any info would be appreciated
thanks

I had a rancho lift on my YJ, and an 'old man emu' lift on my CJ. Had no problems with either one. I have never heard a bad word about skyjacker either. The techs at 4WD Hardware are really helpful, and the salesmen aren't pushy. I added a link below . . They have a toll free numberTry to get a discount. Might I suggest a slip yoke eliminator at this point? And remember, a dropped pitman arm is a must to eliminate 'bump steer'. Worth the 70 bucks!

I know that I'm just echoing the other poster, but I always think that a couple of opinions are good, and if both agree, all the better, right? Good Luck
I have a Pontiac Grand Prix, my friend a pt cruiser...?
hi,ive installed both skyjacker and rancho and they are both very good in quality and price.the best way to find out what you need is to go to the web sites and talk to the techs.they will take care of all your needsAvoid any lift that has the word 'budget' or uses spacers. A good lift will include new springs, a dropped pitman arm, and at least one set of control arms (the uppers). If you don't see those three items you are guarenteed to get some type of handling issue after installation.
I have a Chevy Camaro, made in 1993, Z28, 78,000 miles on it, how much do you think its worth?
A great lift has the words 'Long Arm' attached to it. these are usualy 4"+ lifts but they are the best in maintaining ride quality equal to, and sometimes better, than stock.

Skyjacker is number one in the circles I deal with.
I have used an ARB Old Man Emu 2" lift kit on my TJ, and it is really good. The ride is not harsh, but it handles much better on bends than it did on original suspension, and does not wallow. The kit comes complete with 2" higher springs, longer shocks, extended rear bump stops for the rear shocks, transfer case spacers to lower the transfer case about 1/2" to stop drive-line vibration, and an extension bracket to lower the rear track bar to put the rear axle back to where it should be after the lift. So whatever lift kit you decide on, ensure that it has these components included.
A lift kit will give you more clearance, and better approach, departure and ramp-over angles for more confidence off-road. With a 2" lift, you can run slightly bigger tires eg 31" (and get tires that have good grip off-road, as well as a good off-road tread to make it look better than the suburban "shopping trolley" SUVs that are everywhere).
Finally, a lifted Jeep Wrangler just looks good.
