Toyota Tacoma 4 cyl question?

Question:
I am looking to buy an ext. cab toyota tacoma pickup in the '96-'00 range and need some opinions about the 2.7 liter 4 cyl. engine. Some of them that i drove seem underpowered and have trouble driving at highway speeds (75 mph up north here) in 5th gear is this normal? It seems like the tacoma is geared too tall for a four cylinder engine. Also i would like some input on the 3.4 liter V6.

Answers:

Just got 20inch rims on my 06 Altima and they are rubbing in the rear what do I do?

The 5th gear on the manual transmissions for the 4cyl is a bit tall IMO. It's set up to optomize the MPG esp. for the EPA figures. It was something that was common with them all. If you are looking for more power, the V6 will give it to you, but keep in mind, it won't hurt the engine to use 4th gear when going up hills and such, just a bit more rowing through the gears.

Ford F150 5.4 running problem?

yes 4 cylinder taco is a bit of a dog if your even thinking about pulling something get the 3.4 don't get me wrong both are great motors but if power is a issue get the V6.
