Question:
Any comments on this engine? Peformance, Durability?
I had heard that the Trans Am was originally designed for it, but it seemed to have faded pretty fast from Pontiac offerings.
Was it ever put in anything light enough for it to be a contender?

What is your opinion of a 1992 Ford Taurus?
It was in the Sprint (early stripped down lemans - similar to GTO) and the firebird. They came in a 4 barrel 215 hp although most were 165 with a 1 barrel. Firebirds handled better with them than the 8s due to the reduction in weight. You could get a 3 or 4 speed manual or a 2 or 3 speed automatic with them.Difference between a 1993 chevy k1500 and a 1994 k1500?
They were released in 1967 (year of the sprint) and had a 230 cu in displacement. Enlarged to 250 for 1968. Hard to get parts for now - the valvetrrain and head is unique to this engine and its 3 year run. The bottom end was based off of the chev 6.
it was in the firebird only ( as far as i know ) and was a pretty good engine , stodgy bean counting dimwits killed it , what else is new ?
The answer above mine is correct, but in the 80s someone started making the camshafts again (that was this engine's weak point). I'm not sure, but I think they are still available somewhere.
Can anyone tell me if it is possible...?
Overall a good engine that was ahead of its time.
