What does GMC's "C" exactly stands for?

Is it really "Company" (from GM Truck Company)? If so, why would General Motors call one of their sub-companies the "General Motors Company"? Or: Why is it not "GMT" (since "truck" is more specific to GMC than "company")?

The C stand for Company. And GMC used to be called, until 1999, GMC Truck. It's offical tittle was 'General Motors Truck Company' back when the division was born in 1912. Thus the title GMC Truck and then in 1999 they dropped the truck and became just GMC.
