What I would suggest is once you get your fog light installed, buy some or head to a body/detail shop and ask them to place some clear 3M protective tape on your lights (clear tape).

This is the tape that most detail shops or dealers will use as a protective clear bra on cars. I have done this with all my vehicles by placing this tape on as clear bra (front facia & hood and mirrors) as well as adding it to my fog lights and even on my head lights and it has protected my hood and lights very well.

It is fairly cheap to get the lights done as the detail shop only charged me $15 for the fog lights and headlights. Well worth it in the end and it protects from big $ damage.
