please let people know if it's north american version or European version (which comes in a diesel) as the NA version is a gasoline motor and can theroetically be converted over for propane and NG. (Haven't heard of any kits for one)My Xantia's fan motor last only for a year and always on the driver's side.?
Ford in there infinate wisdom decided to use cheap castings in their cylinder heads and soft valve seats. After several thousand miles of running on gas (with no lubricant present), along with slightly higher temperatures, the valves will receed into the seats causing hunting and poor consumption.
There is a device on the market called a valve saver that should reduce this problem but i have fitted them with very little success
yea really from what to what? Most can be converted. We have on order 2008 Ford Fusion CNG powered cars for a utility. I don't know why they were not available prior to 2008 but they are now. The way most people are going though is Gas/electric hybrids. This combination looks like it will be the way for the next few years. My best guess for future cars will be some sort of Fuel cell or Bio fuel like E85 along with electric. We, as a country, can't keep running gasoline powered vehicles. Hydrogen is being looked at but so far impractical because of all the filling stations in america are set to pump some sort of liquid fuel. The Oil companies own the gas stations so you can see why this will have a huge stumbling block. As to why Ford did not do the Fusion. Only Ford cost accounts can answer that. I guess they had to start someplace and the Fusion was not one of them.
