How much torque and horsepower do you need to do a decent burnout?

Question:
I'm planning on buying a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria or newer year. I was wondering if I had 200 horsepower and 275 torque; would this be good enough for a decent burnout?

Your burnout method really does make a difference. If you want to burn donuts on an empty asphalt parking lot, then you should be able to do it with little or no added power, but a good bit of skill. But if you want to burn out on straight line take-off, you'll need to either powerbrake it, or add maybe 70 horses above a stock V8 Crown Vic. If you're not interested in top speed, change the 3.27 diff to a 4.10. And if your car has traction control, which is optional on Crown Vic, it will obviously have to be disabled, or you won't get the burnout you otherwise could.

Smaller diameter tires will help, too. You might go just a little narrower if your burnouts are unsatisfactory. And buy the cheapest tires you can find (at least for the rear axle) since nothing is going to last long on respectable burnouts anyway.

anyway my 180hp 200fp honda accord can do a decnet brunout, so i'd say you have enough. just dump the clutch and gun it or, if u have an automatic, keep ur foot to the ground on the break, rev up and let the break go.

do i have a blown head gasket?

depends on the weight of the car and the way the transmision reacts to abrupt revs. also the tires have a lot to do with it so avoid wide tires for burning out

You will be able to, it's a rear wheel drive car so even with little horsepower you should be able to.
