Question:
I have a 2000 Ford Ranger and several things have been changed on it but the light will NOT go off....any ideas of what it might be?
Answers:
Let's consider an example; The code indicates no activity on the downstream oxygen sensor, bank 2. That does not mean that the sensor is inoperative, it just means that the computer is not getting a signal from the sensor OR that there si no switching (signal is remaining fully lean or fully rich). Proper diagnosis may find a broken wire or perhaps there is a leak in the exhaust causing fresh air to interfere with the sensor which is only designed to be reading exhaust gases.
Your Ford dealer (or another competent certified repair facility) will have all of the proper tools to perform a real diagnosis of your MIL.
my toyota tundra does that and it means I need an oil change....maybe it applies to ford's too.....dont know.....call a ford dealer.........good luck
2000 Honda Accord coupe or sedan?
lol obviously something is still broken. Go to autozone and ask them to pull your codes.the check engine light on could mean a lot of things, many very simple such as ,the gas cap may not be tight, you must take it to a auto repair shop that has electronic eguipment to check it.
hope this helps

I have a 1999 Ford Escort. It might be the oxygen sensor. When get a tune up ask mechanic to check this part. It part of the pollution control devices on ford vehicles. When I got the tuneup the light went out .i am trying to locate the fuel safety shutoff for a 1992 dodge caravan all wheel drive.?
if the truck runs good who caresCan anybody tell me, where is the location of the inner fuse box of a Hyundai Matrix?
probably a censor, most likely not worth the money to repalce it wont do any harm but keep your light on, although if you oil pressure ever bottoms out or something similar your check engine light will already be on and you wont know it is happeningWhat model subaru is only three letters?
whatever it is but it could be critical. get it checked as soon as possible. its not recommended to drive more than a day with that light on. it could result in serious damage if not taken care of earlyTypically, the yellow "check engine" light is a sensor problem, which could come on for a simle reason like forgetting to put back your gas cap after fill-up. Any Ford dealer could put it on a scope and it will tell them the problem based on the codes they get. Not a big issue and it should not affect the driveability of the vehicle. Nevertheless, you need to make it go away, because other problems could develop down the road.
