AOD Lock-up in Drive for Towing?

Question:
On my 97 Explorer, does the Transmission converter lock up on regular drive for towing?

Answers:

Bentley Continental GTC or Ferrari F430 Spyder?

If you lock out overdrive while towing it will not lock up, its electronically controlled along with the Overdrive gear. So when towing in Drive it will not be able to lockup due to the overdrive being turned off.
