The engine management light is illuminated because your car is in LOS mode (Limited Operation Strategy) or LIMP HOME MODE.
Basically, there is a problem and a pointer to the answer is now stored in the ECU (computer) in the form of a fault code, which you can have read out at any garage, or indeed by anyone who owns an FCR (Fault Code Reader).

If you were to reset the light then it would probably come back on again during or after a drive cycle (start up from cold, drive till hot, and then switch off).

Most common problem is the throttle Assembly.Either needing cleaned and set up or if it is (fly by wire car)the throttle body's are prone to going faulty.There is also a software update for this car
(for fly by wire only).
Throttle body is expensive £400.00 ish

The easiest item to check is your gas cap. If it's not tightened properly on the filler neck, the light will come on. This may not be the problem but if it is you've saved yourself some cash and a trip to the shop.
