Question:
I am looking potentially for an old, "clunker" car since mine just died after a long time. I usually take public transit to work, but sometimes need to take a car. It would have to do well in snow, not suck the gas down too bad, and be reasonably reliable, etc. Like I said, it will not be driven a bunch so it does not have to be a complete trooper, but I don't want a headache (just got done with one). Any suggestions?

My '95 Integra jerks when I put it in reverse. Could oil be the cause of this?
instead of an old BMW, get an old volvo. The early-mid 90s volvos (pretty much all models too) are completely indestructable. theyre also very cheap, and pretty much the most dependable car ever made.Where do I buy a battery for a 1991 Ford Explorer XLT?
Without too much bias, I can say, Toyota, Toyota, Toyota, Mazda... Probably in that order. BMW are nice but they are very costly to repair even if you are your own mechanic since the parts are not cheap. If you really want a BMW, make sure you read everything about them and find the best one you can find... If it seems like a great deal, run!!!Can 18 in. rims fit on an 1987 honda accord?
You might not actually be saving much money by buying a clunker. Maintenance on BMWs can be expensive. What's your budget? If you get a certified used vehicle it'll cost more, but it would be more reliable than a clunker and if it's low miles you may still have some of the original 4 year/50K mile free maintenance program. Also, since you need to drive in snow I'd get nothing but AWD, something like the xDrive in 328xi, X3 or X5.I own a 2006 VW Jetta GLI with 16k miles...Should I buy a VW Jetta TDI instead?
Advice...dont get a BMW...I am a BMW owner, and I love it!! but I can afford the matinence.if finance is an issue, dont get an import, not even a toyota...your parts and labor will out ride what you pay for the car.I know even an old Beamer is cute and classy, but only if its running dude...when you think used consider repair cost...when i was in college I wish someone would have told me that..ie: I opted for cute and ended up with a cute parked old classic, and I was on the bus...lol...so think smart, think good cheap transportation, till you can do better.MOPAR QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS U GOT QUESTION I GOT ANSWERS or SITES?
You didn't mention what year you want for the used BMW. But anywho, I pretty much agree with the rest of the people here. All major German manufacters like BMW, Mercedes, Volkswagen, Audi, etc. cost an ***-load of money to repair. So, if you want something reliable and dependable, go for either a Toyota or Honda. I might get a used (2004-2005) Honda Accord with a V6, and I'm pretty sure I'll love it. =)What model of Honda is closest to the Acura TL?

If you really want a BMW, get a 3-series from the 80's or early 90's. They are relatively fuel efficient and seem to last forever. I still see lots of them on the road. I don't know what your budget is, but don't buy one that is "stupid cheap" like $1500 or less. This is not a Chevy Cavalier. You don't walk into Autozone and find $20 remanufactured parts with a lifetime warranty. You will probably have to to spend $5000 plus to get one that is reasonably reliable.More Questions & Answers ...
