What do you guys think about the pontiac solstice?
your distributor cap is most likely the cause. Moisture can get in the distributor cap causing no starts and rough running when started.Remove the distributor cap and inspect for moisture. While your there check the vent screen located in the bottom of the distributor for being clogged>This is usually the culprit for moisture as the distributor can not properly vent and condensation builds up inside causing these conditions.Hope this helps.Replace your distributor cap, it may have a crack in it.

Almost always the problem is not limited to just one item. You will surely have to replace the spark plug wires, distributor cap, and the rotor.

there are 2 little screens in the diss that need to be removed

engine firing order for a 1990 buick skylark v6?
Pop your dist. cap off, and look at the terminals inside the cap. You will notice, they have a whitish corrosion on them. If this is the case, replace both the dist. cap and dist. rotor. This is usually the problem with 90 to 95 percent of run problems when dampness occures. When you replace them, get the better cap and rotor, don't waste your money on the cheaper line. JUST REPLACE THE CAP AND ROTOR, WITHOUT LOOKING AT THEM, I SURE THAT WILL TAKE CARE OF YOUR PROBLEM.it is your coil wires and they are getting wet. that is most likly your problem.
why does car whistle when I accerlate?
Had the same problem. Check MAP sensor next to rise on manifold, should read 7 to 9 ohms across sensor leads(as marked on sticker). O2 sensors also have a cause of bad firing in low barometric pressure(problem on earlier jimmy's, 95-96). Jimmy's also have a terrible track record for carbon build up. If it's a v6 vortec, make sure you don't need a new catalytic. If it runs fine when it warms up but rattles while it is doing so that may be the case. Ignition parts are usually the problem but sometimes its just the easiest thing to fix.More Questions & Answers ...
