1988 mazda 323?

just bought a 1988 mazda 323. is the door and key illumination light supposed to stay on continually? tnx for your help.

it stays on when the lights are on or when you open the door and close it for about 10 sec. so you can find the hole if its always on the timer in the buzzer is bad or a door switch is bad check before you replace them. to test it turn on the dome light to see if that works when the doors close if it does not test the door switch should be ground when open and nothing when pushed if always ground then a wire is bear somewhere trace it back to the wring under dash.
