I have a 2006 Chevy Cobalt,lately after putting the car in park,the key will turn and shut the car off but won't come out! I have to put my foot back on the brake and without starting it up,put the car back in gear,then back in park before it'll come out. Sometimes it takes 3 or 4 times! HELP!!

i have heard a lot of people saying they have had ignition key problems with their cars and truck. i will look up and see if their are Any recalls on this problem but i need your help is it a LS LT LTZ or SS but take it to the dealer and they will help you out but ween you are their i can tell you if their are Any other recalls out their.What sort of performance can i expect if i remap a peugeot 307 xsi 136 hdi?

if your car doe's not have side curtain air bags their is a recall on GM has not sent the letters out yet to the costumers but it will be dealer installed at no cast to you it is a plastic Peace that will go in your headliner but no recalls on the keys hope this help. but take it to the dealer. if you have got side curtain air bags you are in good shape and good luck
It's not the key, it's actually the shifter. My cousin has an 06 too and took it to the dealer when she had that problem. The shifter had broke and had to be replaced. It won't turn the key loose since it's not going all the way into park. The dealer told her that was a problem they were seeing quite a bit with the Cobalts. Hope that helps!

after you park push the baton under the keydefinately the shifter ive put many in and they arent that expensive either. might be able to get just the BTSI solenoid separately now. check with your dealer.
