Opel Vectra carb swap. Pls help!?

Question:
Greetings!,
i have an '95 production Opel Vectra A 1.8 which is (belive it or not!) carburator fed and the carb is a Pierburg 2E2. the poblem is... well, everything! the engine doesnt shut off when the ignition is turned off, massive fuel consumption (3-4 km per liter!!) and starting hesitation even when the engine is hot. i have spent big time and bigger money in the garage trying to get the thing straightned out but has had no luck and the only thing left is to get a new carb. that proves to be very difficult here (in Sri Lanka) since 50% of the cars are japanese and the rest Mercs, BMWs and Audis that arnt stupid enough to use this type of overengineered carb! fixing a jap carb is out of the eqation coz there are an infinite number of air lines that wont fit in to these and some one told me that getting a Weber is the best solution. does anyone have an idea what Weber (or anything as long as its not a Pierburg!!)is a direct match to the 2E seiries? Cheers!
