Will 3.1l intake and heads bolt up to a 2.8?

Question:
I have a 91 s10 with a 2.8, Im going to turbo charge it. But will a 3.1l head and intake combo off a f body or a olds or pontiac. i kno some had aluminum heads with mpfi. Im more concerdned about the mpfi intake than anything else, but if i can get aluminum heads i will have them ported and ill use them to. Anyone know anything about this?

yes, the 2.8 and 3.1 are the same it will all bolt right in. but the change over from TBI to MFI will be tricky. i put (2003 model year) 3.4l SFI heads and intake onto my 93 MFI 3.1l sunbird and it worked great i'd guess i gained about 30hp.

They bolt to the block the same, so you may be okay, but expect some hassles with any racer guy swap. Another item to research is to see if the distrib will clear. No alum headed 2.8 or 3.1 had a distrib, so it may not clear the heads and intake.
