If you are inclined towards the Cougar I think that is the car to buy. You don't see as many Cougars on the road as the Mustangs and you can probably find a Cougar in better shape for less money.I'm partial to the Mustangs.Get a 69 or 70.Everyone has a 64-68 but you rarley see a 69 or 70.
cougars have mustang drivetrain or is it mustangs have cougar drivelines,,, Cougars dont retain value like a stang but insurance is cheaper... www.grundy.com is dirt cheap for insurance and is better than any other ins co I have ever dealt with. I have had both while I was still in high school and wish I had either one right now. The cougar has more glamourous features and switches. fit and finish is better too on cougars. They are harder to find parts for than a mustang. You're doing the same thing I am doing now. I am looking for either car now but it has to be clean/rust free. I would pick the cougar because the mustang is a lot more common out there, and the cougar is basically the same as the mustang, but it has a different body and I don't see near as many of them.Mustangs are all time classics but are more expensive then Cougars are. Cougars parts are harder to find but may be interchangeable with a Mustang part. All Cougars are, are upscale Mustangs. The body styling is different but overall Mustangs cost more to insure then Cougars. If its a daily driver type of thing Cougar but if you want that classic muscle car look definitely go with the Mustang. Good Luck.

I like the mustang fastback. The cougars are cool to. I love the sequential tail lights. But if your wanting an old late 60s ford car. There are more then just mustangs and cougars. go to eBay, and check out the comets cyclone, fairlanes GT, and my favorite the falcon futura sport. These are a lot cheaper and are basically the same car. You can get them with v8s, 4speeds, and two doors two. Buyer beware on eBay.More Questions & Answers ...
