There will one one on each exhaust manifold and one behind the cat converter. Some models had one in front of the cat also.
They are a round tube shaped item with a 4 wire connector going to them. Takes a 7/8" wrench to take one out.

bank 1 sensor 1 comes off the forward bank of cylinders as you look at it. the exhaust gasses from #1 cylinder will pass that O2. In this case you will have a preheated O2 with 4 wires coming out of it. The sensor itself looks like a funny shaped spark plug. it is possible for the manufacturer to have put a heat shield around or over this sensor. I would suggest that you take to a local Auto Zone and get their inspection.. won't cost you anythingmy cj7 gas guage keeps going out. have replaced it once. can not find a short. all new wire kit?
