It would be a bad offer for $15. There is nothing good about a 97 Sable except that it's going to go to the scrap yard soon. In what part of the country do you live. I your state does not drop salt on the highways during winter you should be fine. Your brake lines should be OK. Have the dealer run the title for you to gain knowledge as to who any previous owners and where it was registered. Southern states are better. Have a qualified mechanic check it out. Check the calipers, pads and rotors. If it has drums in the back pull them to check the wheel cylinders. Make absolutely sure they are working. Check the rear shoes and if it has disc brakes in the rear make sure the rotors, calipers and pads are in good working order. If everything suits you GO FOR IT! Sounds great, just check the carfax report to check the history (just because it looks good on the outside doesn't mean it's good under the hood), check out kelly blue book to get a value. And please don't listen to any of those import idiots. American cars are just as good as japanese cars as long as you take good care of it.
