WOW gas mileage?

I just bought a 2003 Mazda Tribute 6 cylinder 3.0L. I get 250 km to the tank (60L) and I think there is something terribly wrong. Does anyone have advice or can anyone confirm that this is a problem.

If you don't see raw gas puddling under the truck when it's parked, or smell gas when you're driving (a dangerous situation), then someone is probably stealing your gas when you're parked. Failing that possibility the truck is in serious need of a trip to your local Mazda dealer's service shop.

You didnt mention how its running? Fine? Rough?
Change your oil, filter, and air filter (very important).
Check your tire pressure. Make sure it matches what the Tribute states it should be (on the frame at the drivers door, or on the actual door itself, on the inside). Is it AWD? I'm not sure, but that doesnt help. If its RWD, and has 4WD, dont use it more than you have to.
Get your injectors cleaned (depending on your mileage.. but it cant hurt).

If this does not fix it (this, injectors included, is maintenance) you may have a problem, bad injector, bad fuel filter, bad air intake, messed up plugs.. or worse.. the list goes on.

Think positive, think small, and try everything you can before admitting defeat and taking it to the dealer.. they'll charge you an arm and a leg. Chances are its minor, and whoever owned it before didnt care as they were selling it... these few things should make a world of difference. Start charting it.. more info incase you do have to bring it in for service (more info = less labor = saved $$$)

If you're doing nothing but city driving that is a little low but not far of the expected mileage from an AWD SUV. Make sure air filter is clean, tune-up and tires are up to required pressure. Something is definitely wrong if you were getting better numbers in same driving conditions before.
