More than likely there was a air temperature sensor that wasnt plugged back in when you upgraded your air intake. If it was reused, make sure its plugged all the way in or there isnt a problem with the wires...

Most newer cars have a sensor that is connected to where the OEM intake was, if your cold air kit did not use this, this could be the culprit, you mau need to drill a hole for the sensor and add it in. You should check the MAF sensor or the VAF sensor whichever one it uses, check that is well connected and the wires are not loose. this can cause you CEL.why the hec did you put it in the first place! it restrict CLEAN AIR from getting in to the intake manifold. it probably made a sensor dirty also and not function. If you need more power you have to have a modify the intake valve and the seat and have a larger intake manifold. basically just putting only a cold air intake just puts more dirty air into the engine and reduces engine life. if you want one you have to modify the whole intake system.
