Car is automatic gearbox with Steptronic -what duz it mean?
I own a shop and build engines. I will agree on the performer RPM but I would use the air gap if you have room to get it under your hood. The rpm should make it see big numbers through about 7,000 rpm. That is about all you want to wind a 350 anyway, unless you want to blow it up. I would seriously consider going to a set of Vortec heads. For the money they make numbers that are up there equal to the $1,000.00 heads. If you have the old heads you have no place to mount your accessories like alternator, power steering, etc; so they also have pressed in rocker studs. At high lift and high rpm's the studs may pull right out of the heads, and cause big time problems. Check out the numbers on the heads at:www.chevyhiperformance.com they did tests on these heads, and you can decide from there why you are nose diving at 5,000 rpm's.
Glad to help out, Good Luck!
Question about cost of a new car.?
try preformer rpm intakeIs it possible to make a handbrake turn with a Dodge Charger?
that performer will give you a lot of torque but as you say it dies at 5,000 rpm., you could step up to a performer rpm which is good to 6,500rpm and is still a dual plane manifold. If you go to a single plane manifold you are going to lose torque but gain upper end rpm and horsepower, that manifold would be a edelbrock victor Jr. If your not planning to drag race this car all the time and use it on the street you will be much happier with the performer rpm.More Questions & Answers ...
