yes ,that car should last pretty good ,the mileage is low enough on it ,and they are a little right about the electrical,sometimes they do give a few problems,but the bulbs don't blow all the time,for the most part of it those care last real good, i own a repair shop,and occasionally get a few in for electrical problems,but not that much,you should get a lot of good driving out of it,keep it maintained and it should be a good car for a few years to come,good luck,i hope this help,s.I have pinkish/red coming from underneath my Jeep?? what is it??
Golfs are known to have notorious electrical problems. Unfortunately, I do not of an effective way to prevent electrical failior; however, the best thing you can do is keep up with all of your standard maintenance. Electrical problems, maybe.......but for sure, you'll get alot of carbon build-up......
just get it checked every 10,000 miles......

Electrical system (and bulbs are plugged into electric) Can tend to be buggy. The fix (unreasonable) is to completely upgrade the wiring. :-) The reason for this is because the sub-contract supplier that made the electrical systems for VW cut some corners, during a "specific date range" this is why not ALL golfs have these problems, even though the 2002 model, for example, is the same car.My suggestion is to make sure that you check your electrical system regularly for any issues. Notice lights flickering? Battery draining? etc..
