No Subaru never owned SAAB. SAAB Cars was bought by GM in 1990. GM used to own about 20% of Subaru which they acquired in 1999, until last year. SAAB 9-2x is a WRX badged as a SAAB but that will end soon because Subaru is no longer part of GM and Toyota now owns about 10% of Subaru. SAAB is still owned by GM
